In a nutshell: Mair Pro Woods or Acerbis hand guards, as the stock ones are just for show, Moose bash plate to protect the bottom of the engine, for the same reason. Once you wear out the stock tires in 4000 miles of riding, get Pirelli MT-21 tires (There are other DOT legal knobs too, all are an improvement over stock off-road.) Some people would argue you need to dump the stock fork springs for Progressives, but that is more a matter of preference I think, as you can increase the spring pre-load if they are too soft. And most importantly, re-locate the rear license plate holder, as it will break off on the rear tire the first big bump you hit. See the DSN website for instructions. Those are the best improvements you can make I think. There are other mods, of course, but these are the really necessary ones. Jeff
