[dsn_klr650] n.e. oklahoma trails?
Hi Don,
There are lots of places to enjoy your KLR around the Grand Lake area. I
don't know what kind of riding you enjoy, but there is a place called the
Little Blue near Pensacola Dam that has about all the trail riding you could
want. I haven't checked it out for myself yet on the KLR but I did hunt
deer down there last year.
If you enjoy exploring dirt/gravel roads, there are thousands of them around
the area. I enjoy just seeing where some of the go. I can send an excerpt
from a book called "Back Roads of Oklahoma" that covers Delaware County if
you like. Most of Grand Lake is in Delaware County.
You will be close to Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. A ride to Eureka
Springs, Arkansas is a nice trip.
If you are planing a visit to the area, you might check out
www.virtualgrandlake.com for lake area info. and www.grovesun.com for a
local area newspaper site.
Fellow lister Verle Nelson mentioned scratching something called a chigger.
We don't allow those around the lake so don't worry. We have also banned
ticks, spiders, snakes and several other biting, creeping, crawling beasts.
