I made a mistake in my earlier reply. The torque number should have read 30
not 35. Well soon see how the mods change the numbers.

[dsn_klr650] introduction.
HI Danny,
Welcome aboard... You'll find the cuisine varied, the experiences abundant,
the personalities... Well Um and the Humor... Well um... RICH, yeah that's it.
We don't use oil in out KLRs it is just too much of a hassle around
here. Bob has a very well lubricated toilet and sewer pipe though.
Tires are for wiping and not for riding, Charmin doesn't handle the dirt
well so don't even ask. If you like BMW's and are willing claim that they
are better than KLR's then you are risking bodily injury. The list's
average weight is on the order of 250# and roughly 6' tall.
We are Semper Fi Heads (I was Army, GOD I wanted to say Jug Head so Bad,
good thing I didn't eh?) cops, engineers, mechanics, explosive experts,
tire experts, oil experts, experts on all things mechanical and most things
environmental and political. Don't argue and you'll get along just fine.
You need to adopt a favorite mammal and let us know why it is you
favorite. Camels and Sheep are exclusively taken. You have kids... well
they need to be up for auction before the end of the week. You need to
send $15 to start receiving the Dual Sport News. If you have a dog then
you need to train it to pee on tires and bring it to Moab. You don't have
a KLR yet... Well ..... soon you'll be compelled to blow your first couple
of paychecks of the month of June to purchase one. Then your next three
months of paychecks on the accessories you NEED!
Before a question is posted, you must first consult the ancients
(archives), if not then .. well.. um.. I'll get back to you there.
Other than that I can't think of anything. Fellow piranha will certainly
correct me and bite you repeatedly for my lack of completeness in this
post.
Danny we have a lot of fun here. Take nothing personally, some seriously
and all of it with a smile. Our love for the bike will rub off and you'll
have to have one soon. I promise.
Oh Yeah ... I almost forgot.... If it doesn't pertain to the technical
aspects of the KLR, You MUST put NKLR in the Subject line along with a
meaningless description of what is to follow. Example... Your line would
have read "introduction NKLR" just as mine does.
NKLR stands for ... Not pertaining to the technical aspects, performance
measures or components of the KLR .... There are many technical types that
don't want to read the daily humor and comradery so they filter out the
NKLR messages. Be kind to them as they usually have great information for us.
