[dsn_klr650] protective gear (nklr)
I read some posts this morning about accidents and good folks in need of our
prayers. Tom and Tina, we all wish your bodies and souls a speedy recovery
and are thankful you both are still with us.
I was out on a jet ski this weekend and was having fun on the wrong side of
responsible. Wound up being thrown off at about 45 mpg. Bruised my back and
shoulder, pulled all the muscles in my neck and sprained my ankle (no idea
how). Now my plans for Black Belt Camp, Instructor Certification testing,
weekend of camping in Georgia and a long hike with my girlfriend on a trip
back home to Michigan are pretty much down the tubes. But I'm ok.
While cruising on the boat the rest of the day in some real pain I started
thinking about the KLR. What if I was fooling around and droped THAT at 45?
I never fly without my helmet but my other gear consists of jeans and a
leather jacket. No armor. I looked around and found a site with a good set
of reviews. It's at the bottom. I get a quarterly bonus tomorrow and will be
ordering a MotoPort Body Guard and Darien Light jacket and pants with back
protector. I won't be on my favorite toy until they arrive. Look what we
have to lose if we don't take care of our temples. Too high a price in my
humble opinion.
Have fun in Moab everyone. Wish I were there. Please be safe.
