Idaho Dual Sport Rally at Swiftwater RV Park August 23-26 . SWIFTWATER RIDE August 23-26 Sponsored by Dual Sport News / Happy Trails Products and hosted by Treasure Valley Trail Machine Assoc. This Dual Sport ride / rally will be based out of Swiftwater RV Park. The closest town is White Bird Idaho. The Swiftwater RV Park is located next to the Hammer Creek Bridge on the Salmon River. You will need to make camping reservations with them. The owners’ Mike and Jamie Mortensen are also riders and host several road bike rallies at their facility throughout the year. Please make sure you sign up for this rally and not the Labor Day Rally for street bikes. This RV park is located on the Salmon River, known as the "River of No Return." The Salmon River is the longest river in the continuous US that is completely contained within the boundaries of a state and has no dams. More about the Park can be found at or by calling toll free 888-291-5065 pin no. 8268. The address is H.C. 01 Box 24 White Bird, Idaho 83554 www.swiftwaterrvpark.com. The focus of the ride is to offer you breathtaking views of Idaho and Oregon with some of the best Dual Sporting anywhere. You will have an opportunity to view the Seven Devils of Hells Canyon, Idaho’s highest mountain range, venture into Hells Canyon and see the mighty Snake River, visit the lowest point in Idaho that is also a seaport, venture via a cherry stem road into the magnificent Gospel Hump Wilderness, retrace part of the Lewis Clark trail, visualize the battle fields of the Nez Perce and Chief Joseph Indians, visit historic Florence mining area, see Moose, listen to the wolf’s howl, visit Oregrande mining district, experience lunch at Dixie, and that is just the start. If you want a day off from Dual Sporting, you can white water raft or take a jet boat tour through Hells Canyon. These are experiences of a lifetime. Just imagine the roar of twin 460 Ford engines at 3800 RPM groaning as the bow of the aluminum jet boat blow through a ten-foot wave from a rapid deep enough to put Malcolm Smith’s house in! The Small town of White Bird is a few miles north of Swift Water and has restaurants. Riggins to the south and Grangeville to the north offer more restaurants within a short drive. When I am asked "where is this ride?" my best comeback is "It’s in the candy store." Come join us. This Ride and Rally is designed for the adventurer. Most of the riding is on highways and Forest Service Roads. If you want to bring a trail bike, trails are close but will require at least a half hour drive. If you want directions for the best travel route to this area let me know. Contact: Tim Bernard 7577 W.
