As a matter of fact.....I will bet you money that I have walked longer distances and carried heavier rucks than you, and in more remote areas and on more continents than you, but then again, that was my job. Lets see here, 120 miles in 9 days, that's just over 13 miles per day. I once marched 98 miles in just over 2.5 days. My feet were bloody stumps after that, but I made it. I went on the memorial Bataan Death march once, and that was pretty brutal. Ranger School and the Special Forces Qualification Course had some really brutal marches too. But I get your point. I'm not bitching about the Sierra Club because of all of their motivations, just their intentions, methods, results, and arrogance.>How many on this list bitching > about the Sierra Club have put a pack on their back and hiked 120miles in > nine days in protected wilderness?
Exactly. I bet most of them drive their little yuppie mobiles to work daily as a single occupancy vehicle, unstead of using more ecologically friendly public transportation, or god forbid, a motorcycle.> Most of them I doubt have ever ridden a motorcycle, let alone a dirt bike.
Makes me feel better though. This is the same mindless bunch that enacted the OHV ban in California that required mandatory patrols by law enforcement to enforce, and it was later determined that these mandatory patrols were causing more ecological damage than the origional traffic before the ban was causing. I have experienced first hand trail closures in my favorite areas. It pisses me off. It also pisses me off when I see those idiots out tearing up the ground. I usually stop and bitch them out thouroughly when I can. It also pisses me off when people take their seadoos out onto pristine mountain lakes.> To bash them won't help us one little bit. >
