preload/damping adjustment procedures?
Eric,
I too found the spring preload adjustment confusing.
My soulution was to turn the preload adjusting nut fully
counter clockwise [softest] and then turn the nut clockwise,
feeling each "detent" until I arrived at the setting I wanted.
Maybe it's too simple, but I had trouble reading the preload
scale.
To set the damping adjustment, go to the right hand side of
your bike & remove the rubber plug at the bottom of the rear
shock. Adjust the plastic wheel to the desired setting. At
least the highly vaunted Kawi engineers made this setting
clear. The photo in the owner's manual is vague as to how
to find the damping adjuster.
Fred at Arrowhead sells a magnetic drain plug for $8.95 [US$].
