nklr mx gloves

Any opinions about the toughest moto gloves out there? I'm looking for a light weight glove for the summer that will still provide some protection against pavement. I'm actually leaning towards a pair of waterski gloves right now (saw some in a catalog and they look rugged...double layered kevlar palms).
