I'm wondering what anyone's opinions are regarding the 2000 Suzuki Bandit
600. I am interested in a street bike at some point in the future, but I
would have very limited funds. This Suzuki seems to be the most reasonably
priced streetbike in the CC range I'm looking for. So does anyone have
experience with this bike? Any advice about other bikes with similar price
range (under $6,000)?

How about the SV650...it gets raves...Arne, Vik or Brian will bring you the
Canadian version with the fairing....

A friend I ride with really likes his. It is significantly different from the
SV. The SV is more sporty. The Bandit, with the model year 2000 updates, is
pretty cool for a sport touring bike. I have not ridden it but was impressed
when I really examined the features. The Bandit has hard points on the tail
section to readily receive hard bag mounts.
The CN SV is much more sporty and has a very aggressive riding position. The
word is that you can import them by getting Suzuki to provide you a letter that
states the bike conforms to US safety and emissions requirements. The guy I
know who did it said the only sticky point it he had to get it inspected to get
an Ohio title instead of the Canadian one and if the trooper wanted to be a
real stickler they could make an issue about the speedometer reading in
kilometers.
Guess I am just being a blowhard because I have not ridden either one of them
but the Bandit was a lot cooler in person than in print.
