[dsn_klr650] stupid squeaking
unfortunately, it doesn't start to squeak until i get up to around 15-20 mph
or so, so the circle thing will be hard. it's pretty definitely the front
wheel somewhere. a week or so ago i puttered around in a parking lot hanging
over the front end, then back, then sides, etc..
you're right about tracking down noises. i have plenty of experience doing
it from my bike mechanic days. they're even worse becuase they don't have
motors to drown out the little noises. after work tonight i'm going to the
following (stopping whenever the squeal is fixed):
1) spray a smidge of wd40 at the seal.
2) ride
3) disconnect speedo, inspect
4) ride at unknown speeds
5) reconnect speedo, remove front caliper
6) ride very carefully
7) replace hub bearings
8) ride quietly (i hope)
i'll report back tomorrow.
