Woohooooooooooo.....!! Picked up my new Mac-D rack today at the airport. For those who get Arne's rack, I highly recommend that shipping option if you are fairly close to an airport that can do this. Walked into the Air Canada Cargo place, they told me what to do. I had to call customs first for some reason, apparently they get pissed if you don't do that (?). Called them, told them I have a package, what do I need to do? They asked if I had a bill of sale, I said, uh, nope, they then told me to come on down with the shipping waybill. The Cargo folks gave me the waybill, and a nice (and necessary!) map to the customs office. Jeb at customs asked me what it was and what it was worth. I told him a motorcycle luggage rack, and around $100 as I figured that would be some kind of cutoff point. He then took the waybill, and punched it and told me to go on my way! I then went back to Cargo and picked up the rack. I then opened the box to see what was up. I then noted the following: 1. Arne double boxes, and everything fit snug so no banging around. 2. Arne used bubble wrap in strategic areas to protect the rack even further. 3. All stainless fasteners and washers included. 4. A letter from Arne indicating the best way to mount it, and the note IN RED to use Loctite! ;) This also states warranty information as stated on his webpage. 5. Woops, here was the bill of sale that customs wanted, oh well, Jeb was happy! Couldn't have been an easier install, eveyrthing fit just so, took about a minute. This sucker is rock solid! I was able to pick up the bike from the rack with and without both Givi E36's on the rack, and a Givi E45 on the tail rack. Solid! Just for fun, I decided to finally use up the numerous packages of Scotch red reflective tape. I found this at Kmart. This stuff really lights up! I mounted it on the Givi's in the middle, the seam all the way around. I hope to get pics up someday. Oh well, got work to do! .... Thanks Arne! ;)

FROM: MSchue5938@...
