brake pad replacement for m.a.p oversize rotor.question

Ladies and gentlemen, It's time for new brake pads for the MAP front rotor. I'm going to stick with the galfer green pads. Question for those who have the same setup, how hard is it to break off that piece of the pad that gets in the way? This doesn't apply to the stock KLR brakes so 98% of the listers probably have no idea what i'm talking about. I can either get the pads from MAP or modify a set myself.
