[dsn_klr650] (nklr) oil (continued)

Skip, thanks for the post. As a seat of the pants testbed I have notices that some of the smoothest shifting on my bike has been with Valvoline Blue with STP New Car Additive.  Mobil 1 was also good but I have increased oil use, and increased seal leakage. Castol auto seemed OK, but not as clean shifting as the diesel oil. I'm going back to the Valvoline with STP and saving the Mobil 1 for my wife's car. Todd A9   Correspondingly, if the needed zinc and phosphorous levels for high stress operation of transmissions is replaced with these same friction modifiers, your out of luck with wet clutches.       There is a solution, recommended by both engineers, if you want to save money and not be limited to motorcycle oils. I have already recommended this previously, and that is the heavy duty diesel oils.
