little leakage

Eric, I'll assume that you thoroughly cleaned the engine & that you didn't find any traces of an oil leak from any other parts of the engine. You might want to remove the engine side case screws that appear to be leaking, clean the screws and screw holes with brake or electirc spray cleaner & put a 'dab' of silicone seal near the underside of the screw head. You don't want to use a lot of sealer, just enough to 'plug' the leak that may be comming from the screw hole. It's not common, but I've fixed a few bikes this way. The problem was a small crack in the engine case that let oil seep into the screw hole. These leaks were not comming from the side-case/engine-block seam. Professor A9 Federal Way, Wa. turned up nothin'. I removed the counter sprocket to see if it was the seal behind it but didn't notice anything unusual. The drips appear on the case fastener bolts under the engine, I checked them for tightness and alls well under there. I'm really hoping the main case seal isn't leaking because, well you can only imagine the work. The only thing left that I can think of is amybe an oil seal at the shift lever shaft? Or maybe it is a bad crush washer in the oil drain bolt. Any one ever had an oil leak from the case gasket before?
