Funny thing. i remember when I was just a wee lad going to a science center (like Epcot but not) and seeing my first CD (I think it was in the early 80's or maybe even the late 70's). They were throwing it around the room to demonstrate it's indestructibility. I guess the companies that bought the technologies realized that an indestructible recording would never need replacement...
