I bought an '00 with 450 miles. Now has about 800 miles and was
wondering whether I should check shims. The gentleman that posted
this had one of his readings as "R Exhaust 0.008(tight)". You can
tell when valves are loose, but has there been shim tightening
history noted on KLR's? Will the clearances vary alot during regular
use?
My other ride (R1100RS), needs adjusting ever 5K-6K miles. It's
infinitely easier to set them on the RS, and they do need some
tightening each time.
