mexican insurance?

The world's going to shit. I just got off the phone with Vagabundos Del Mar through whom I've been getting Mexican Insurance for years with various companies. They now only carry liability; sorry the places I go, I've got to have collision and especially theft. Next I called the company I'm presently insured with that last year was associated with the Vags. My policy with them runs out in two weeks. Get this, they'll sell me full coverage for the mainland but insist on excluding Baja ! They'll happily cover you in Mexico City which is a war zone, or Chiapas for that matter, but refuse in what's still the most peaceful part of Mexico. Is there something going on in Baja I'm ignorant of ? Is it now the North American Chechynia? I need another insurance outfit. Any information/suggestions will be highly appreciated. Bogdan
