I recently decided to service my WhitePower shock, so I took it into
the lab did an oil change with 10wt Bel-Ray HPV Suspension Fluid and
recharged with Nitrogen. Man this shock is sweet!
Anyway, while I had the shock off, I decided to check the rear
suspension pivots for the infamous lack-o-grease syndrome. I am
pleased to announce that there was ample grease present and no
corrosion. Not bad for an '88 that sat at the Jersey shore for 10
months before I rescued it 15 months ago.
It seems that most of the posts I have seen concerning dry unilink
pivots are actually on late-model bikes. Is it possible that this is
part of the dealer's lazy setup and not Kawasaki's assembling?
