front sprocket nut torque
I incorrectly posted the torque for the countershaft sprocket nut on the
newer KLRs as 72 ft/lb.
The nut inside diameter is 20mm but I incorrectly posted the spec for a
14mm shaft.
I got the torque spec from the supplement in the general fasteners chart.
The torque for a 20mm shaft is considerably higher. I don't have it with
me now so I can't post it.
To those of you who might have used the 72 ft/lb (including myself) spec to
tighten your front sprocket nut, I apologize. Go and re-torque your nuts.
Thanks to Darrel for picking up my mistake.
To make up for this, I'm gonna flush a gallon of gas down the toilet to
clean out the oil residue.
Thanks.
