nklr cold front in hell

Post by k650dsn@aol.com » Wed Apr 12, 2000 8:56 am

Well, it should be freezing in Hell. I read an article in the latest BMW Owners News on the new BMW F650GS Dakar, and I think I actually like the bike, even at the whopping $8600.00 price. The regular F650 isn't worth a look, but the GS Dakar might be a good bike because of better suspension, 21" front wheel. No where in the article is weight mentioned, which could be a bad sign. Another concern is the vunerability of the under-the-seat fuel cell. It is exposed in several places and looks like a rock could easily damage it in a fall. I'm sure BMW will sell some really expensive shield for it, though. The only other problem is the fuel filler location on the left side panel. If I were to load up the bike with soft bags and a duffle, the filler cap would be covered and I'g have to remove everything to get to it. I think a better location would have been up on the fake tank. Anyway, just my thoughs. Gino
