This applies to KLR650 only. #520 x 106 The list has spoken. Either o-ring or standard chain will work on the KLR650. The o-ring chain is physically wider than a standard chain so there is plenty of room for a standard chain. The master links are different and not interchangeable. So, if you are looking to be off in the middle of nowhere and want to carry a cheap, easy to install chain that you will probably never use, get a standard and don't forget a couple of spare master links and clips. The common chain brands that we see here on the list sell their standard chains for about one half the price of a comparable o-ring model. If you want to sink so low as to order from JC Whitney or someplace like that, you can get a chain even cheaper. We will NOT be discussing what lube to use on standard chains. :-] If you are cool, you will carry your already soaked in 90w oil spare chain in a couple of zip lock plastic bags. Thanks. Bob Kaub
