Entering English coordinates

Most of the discussion regarding scaling and coordinates seems to be
geared toward the engineering/mechanical drawing area. Is anyone using
CADinstosh for architectural drawing?
Specifically, how does one enter dimensions/coordinates in
feet-inches? For example, the best I've been able to come up with is
to enter
12+(9.75/12)
in order to get 12'-9 3/4" (twelve feet nine and three-quarter inches).
Is there a better way?
