New Club Vendor Added - Chris Pappas

Post by David Schulpius » Wed Feb 03, 2016 11:21 pm

Hi fellow B9 builders,
I have an exciting announcement! ............... As I've hinted the past few days we've added a new club vendor...................
We're fortunate to have had Chris Pappas approach us wanting to offer the club an amazing collection of over 6500 high resolution screen shots from virtually every shot the robot ever appeared in. Tat's not all! there is also other media included like publicity shots and proof sheets. It's an amazing collection and the detail of every shot and resolution offered is stunning! Chris's attention to every detail in this collection is head shaking. You've got to see them to really appreciate this! This offering is going to be an amazing aid to anyone building a B9 Robot weather you are scratch building or building with acquired parts.
There's really nothing I can say that can describe the quality and details you will see in every shot and how valuable this will be to anyone building a B9. So please visit Chris's vendor page for a full description of this unique reference material. There are a number of sample pictures there that you can click on that will take you stright to a full resolution HD screen shot. Near the bottom you'll will find a easy to use PayPal button to order. Here's the direct link:

wow. It is interesting to see in one of those photos the scotch tape holding part of the collar together and the missing rib with all the imperfections. PhilB9-673

Thanks, Dave, for that awesome review!  Those who know me will know the lengths I will go through to make something as good as it can possible be. This collection is the result of that drive.  To make the best robot parts, I knew that I had to have the best reference library. One didn t exist, so I made it.  Having information like this at your disposal is invaluable. I m sure everyone wants their robot to be as accurate as possible, and what s the key to achieving that goal? Visual reference. In order to have accuracy, you have to have reference.  I spent months putting together the material for the disk, not including decades of tracking down publicity photos, sometimes buying the same ones three or more times to upgrade the quality.  For the screen caps, I literally went through every scene. Back and forth, over and over trying to get every bit of data possible on the robot.  To get a handle on the changes the robot underwent, I named the files with an FO-## (filmed order) prefix so they could be viewed in the order that the episodes were filmed. This was especially important for the third season where many episodes were not aired in the order they were filmed.  I ended up with more than 6,500 frames. You get it all; close-ups, extreme close-ups medium shots and long shots.  There are so many things yet to be discovered about the robot. One revelation from this project has been the definitive rib count which I have already shared with the group.  The link for the disk is:

Subject: [B9Builders] New Club Vendor Added - Chris Pappas
Hi fellow B9 builders,  I have an exciting announcement! ............... Here's the direct link:  http://www.b9robotbuildersclub.com/pub/parts/B9chris/index.html  Enjoy and happy building!Dave Schulpius

This is brilliant!  I was saying the other day it would be great to have some screenshots off the bluray set and it looks like we have.  The detail is really sharp and clear so much you can even see Bob's notes through the collar. Really great product and I will be ordering mine.

That's great! Congratulations Chris! I know Chris is very attentive to detail having purchased B-205 LIS console meter from him in the past. Certainly a welcome addition

I concur!!

When Chris first told me about his idea to put together this DVD and how many screen caps it would include I was blown away. I told him I would be his first customer! David S. beat me to it though, lol.

I've had many discussions with Chris these past few months on some robot details, and he has sent me some of these screen caps to support our discussions. I can tell you the quality and clarity of these pictures is incredible! There is a screen cap of the Programming Bay that will blow your mind! not only does it show clearly some never before seen detail, you can actually see some components up inside the robot!

There is also a screen cap of the power pack that is so clear you can almost read the serial number of the Librascope part. Just incredible. There has always been differing opinions on whether the power pack used phone plugs (as we use mostly in the club) or banana plugs. Many old time "insiders" have told me they were banana plugs. Case closed! They are phono plugs clear as day!

This is a must have reference if you ask me. Thanks Chris for offering this incredible resource to the club.

Ya, Craig, I should have respected your request to be "first in line". Sorry. I just couldn't stop myself from pushing that PayPal button as I was building his vendor page. I admit; I'm weak. I found myself muttering and talking to myself Like Dr Smith often did when caught between right and wrong. I was trying to decide if I should wait till after you ordered. In true Dr Smith faction, you lost. LOL ;-)
I also was amazed at the detail I'd never seen before. In just the few pics I saw I also learned things I had never known. We'er very fortunate to have this collection available to us now.
